AC Shadows Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Event for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Revealed
According to the official announcement, "A strange confrontation draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of prohibited rituals and fearsome metamorphoses resonate through the shadows." The storyline introduces a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to save her ally from a hidden cult.
The mission focuses on "peculiar trials and a fearsome foe" and is available to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Changes
The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, presumably the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Items and Bonus Features
Players who finish the mission will acquire an unique katana alongside multiple objects secreted throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based outfit for Yasuke
- Mikasa outfit for Naoe
- Unique weapons
- Survey Corps mount
Newest Free Story Addition
This update also adds the game's third no-cost story addition, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive skills: Naoe reveals a dramatic interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

The series previously showcased a 2020 crossover story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
